Wendi Williams, who describes herself as a teacher in Virginia Beach, shared a video showing a man repeatedly pushing her reclined seat on an American Airlines flight. The video has gone viral, but the debate over reclining seats in economy isn’t new. CNN’s Richard Quest reports.

Don't touch inapporiately
They gotta have a do not disturb sign
Make the seats comfortable don't bunch up everybody
Bad bully
Don't be rude
A bully on plane✈️
I feel like if it was not the reclining seat, those two babies would have found a different issue to get into a fight over.
It depends on the length of the flight anything past 1hour I'm reclining and I'm not asking.
I'd prolly do the same thing if a bitch reclined on me
Now there’s a lot of space on flights, ironically
This man in this grey suit talks like he been on crack for days lol
“New Yorkers are never short of an opinion. Here’s what they had to say.”
Cuts to an English bloke.
Unless your extremely tall then you should get a better seat but this guy was only slightly above average so I feel the woman was in the wrong
People need to be considerate and mindful of others I think both passengers are childish someone has to be the bigger person.
Fatty Wendy was crushing the dude’s happenis
If that had been a man reclining his seat and not this woman, there is no way this man would have been punching the seat – she was right to film him but it's the airline that makes people do crazy things – cheers from Canada
The question is why sont they give more space!!!!! Fuck airlines!
What a fucking bitch
that's not a man that's a liberal
the difference is…he couldnt recline to equal it out !!
Richard Quest isn't so much a fan of being high up in the air on a plane; more like high down in Central Park with a pocketful of drugs and, allegedly, a big sex toy. Now the title of his show makes sense: Quest Means Business. I only hope I see him one day at Heathrow just so I can ask if he anything to declare.
Bet that man would not have been punching the seat in front of him, if it had been a man sitting there – she was right to record him – cheers
Yet another reason not to fly on an American carrier.
"Punching"
These people saying “yeah you should be able to recline” say that until they get reclined on
Talk to each other.
I was a flight attendant and you are allowed to recline if you’re tall then pay extra if you have to pay for exit row or premium economy or my the door now I have a rear chronic illness got arthritis in my lower back and nerve damage in my legs recline I even in a car it’s your right and she has neck pain and lower back pain as she has said otherwise they would never have made recliner aircraft seats and there are to seat settings half for when food comes and then to max that’s what we were told to tell passengers do for there seat 💺
There's already no room to move but when someone puts their seat back is very very rude.
I’d have knocked here teeth out never mind the chair
Airlines really do need to do something about this situation in general. When I flew abroad last year, I had my 2 year old on my left and my 1 year old on an aircraft approved car seat to my right. The 3 people in front of me knew this but had their seats reclined as soon as it was allowed to. Once the food came they did not even have the decency to consider that there was no way I could even open my food tray and the air hostess had to ask them to straighten their seats. As soon as they finished eating they reclined their seats all the way back again knocking over my drink, thankfully I was holding my 1 year old otherwise the woman in front would have squashed her legs in between the seat and the car seat.
I dont find many people to be so inconsiderate when I travel but theres that minority that have no consideration for people's space whatsoever.
Reclining your seat is to increase your own comfort – it's a choice. And having the small bit of space in front of you during a flight whether it's short or long really is a need.
“Airline etiquette” is right. It’s about common courtesy. Those seats are tiny and everybody is already crammed up in there. Do your part in helping that situation by not making it worse. This lady was a nuisance in causing discomfort to the passenger behind her. I don't usually fly economy but whenever I did, my parents would specifically remind me not to recline my seat and bother other passengers. If she had some health condition, she should’ve been considerate enough to explain that and ask permission. People don’t respond negatively to good manners. I’ve been on flights where I got upgraded to first class for just being nice, imagine that. Nevertheless, the way this man reacted was completely out of line and he should've faced concequences.
BOTTOM LINE. HES A CHILDISH LITTLE BITCH.
The airline should be responsible for the safety of the passengers. Regardless of the attitude of the woman, he had absolutely no right to retaliate in that manner. He knew it was a non reclining seat & took his frustration on another passanger.
He should have kicked the seat too…what an ignorant bitch….
Don't recline on longer flights either ,that is hell on earth for the person behind you. I sat for 8 hours on an International flight with the woman in front of me in the reclining position. I had to ask her to lift her seat every time I went to the bathroom, eat my meals. Her seat was crushing in my knees and I couldn't even watch the video monitor on the back of the seat because it was in my lap along with that woman….. NO,NO PEOPLE SHOULD NOT RECLINE … I pushed on her seat to get her off my lap. All you people that recline should be the one sitting behind the recliner..That was the worst flight I've ever been on. That was a united airline. I ask the flight attendant if there was another seat I could move to,of course there wasn't.
But why are you reclining in the first place? You know that if the seat in front of you reclines then the tv screen in the back of the seat is at the wrong angle, your tray table dips, no drinks or electronic devices or food can now be sat on the table and you’ve also then got a whole wad of chair in your face and less personal space. So if you do that to someone else, you know full well that you’re deliberately making someone else as uncomfortable as they would had they been doing this to you? So why do it? It’s Dickish behavior. If everyone else can maintain proper etiquette and be uncomfortable for the whole flight instead of making someone else’s life hell by dipping a chair in their lap then you can do the same can’t you? What makes this woman so important?
There's no tit for tat you cant tat who tit on you. You punish the one behind you because you were punished by the one above.
Therefore, Its tit for tit!
This smug bitch is in the wrong. Good on that man. I've done more than that when ignorant bastards have reclined their seats in front of me. She wants sacking as a teacher.
EVERY VIDEO on youtube half hour talking for one video only shows a quick clip ENOUGH just show the video
I didnt see any punching tho
This guy seems so untrustworthy to me.
What an absolute pair of arseholes! Airlines need to scrap reclining altogether.
We all want that Emirates first class experience…
