You must know, you are Uber chief CEO, must listen to the Uber driver, if without them, what is Uber company, if they can't make money, who will work for you, they don't care what income will also care about? Uber fees as high as 50% – 75% above the surface is to make money, but the rules of the game is a conspiracy, Uber is very simple, gasoline, maintenance, maintenance, insurance, vehicle wear and tear, accident, meet the guest's way, and damage of the guests, and dirty carpet seats, pet bite damage, and low fare no tip, even empty return. This all Uber ignored by you, you are the real exploiters, Uber application time is too short, and is profitable for a Uber, for passengers is really cheap, for the driver didn't drink the soup, respect Uber CEO please use your own set of rules of the game, Uber driver for a month, how you will know that you are cheating people, is shameless! Uber drivers will one day see the die out of Uber tomorrow! Thank you very much
Just saw this video. Travis seems to have some moves. He gets down to the Weeknd. Hope he got laid.
Someone made up this to FIRE Travis… May be bloomberg itself… or Bloomberg with some chinese company….
Travis changed the entire ecosystem…
He is a legend….
He will hit back…
If the drivers are in trouble… then its his problem.. he should know how to play this…
Why did the driver say his bankrupt because of him though lol
A silicon valley CEO with a vapid bimbette on either side? Shocker.
just a rich white bloke explaining why him making a fortune was more important than the driver making enough to buy a proper camera
If you think Travis was being a douche you're blind to how economics in business work. He clearly stated any price changes were to temporarily compete with other companies so they wouldn't fall under. This guy apparently thinks Travis just woke up one morning and decided to lower prices for no reason.
Kalanick is the only one making money out of this scam.
I love how he took a quote from rich Dad poor dad
Dumbass Arab arguing with the CEO what sense does that make and he has the nerve to tell him you're not going to go far ugly ass pasty-faced looking bitch I would have deleted your app on site
I smell THREESOME.
Its a piss off to whatever happend to whatever rates.
But it is YOUR OWN responsablitiy and onsus on you to make something out yourself. If you pick someobe elses business model it is your own gamble. You didnt make the rules so if the rules change that is the risk I guess .. No ?? …. Or so they say read the fine print lol..
Its not a gig economy. Its a slave economy.
This is not fair to Travis. He is a private citizen. He tried to have a decent conversation with this driver and it went sour.
Listen to this drunk. He is robbing the drivers and still arguing that what he is doing is right. He had no shame.
This driver is my hero for 2017.
Wtf
Klanick is absolutely right on this point
It is a great business move to buy a $97,000 car to provide a taxi service to consumers – said no one ever.
Uber used the public (drivers and riders) to socialize the risk associated with killing the taxi industry, self-driving cars will take over when the field is clear.
I had a driver charge me to go from Santa Ana to LA, except I only went to Anaheim. I complained to Uber & the driver told them "I drive him home, and his GF to LA". That was a lie (no gf) and Uber believed the lie….. I was overcharged $120!Forget uber if they refuse to stand by their customers
.
Fuck uber !
Tomorrow I'm going to sign up with Lyft uber scams us drivers!! Not to mention so many times you have to send endless emails about a promotion/bonus that you earned that they didn't pay up on!!!
A good example is I hit a $40 bonus but after about 2 phone calls & 20+ emails I finally got it which took 3 1/2 weeks
My last email was I'm going to report you to California labor board & go to the news station because at this point it's not about the money but the principal & immediately they paid me
Fuck uber
Drop the fare price for passengers while uber drivers get paid the same. That really sucks and hurts anyones pocket hard. 1099 at the end of the year to add to it. 25 percent comission for uber and cancelation fee you only get like half of that which is 50 percent commision for uber. Sounds like a 6 dollar minimum wage job to me
Karma !!
25% is way too much. I understand Uber is connecting the passanger to the service provider, and that it SHOULD make money. The only problem is that at the end of the day, it is the DRIVER who is putting in gasoline, maintenance, his time and money. And to top all of that, it is the driver who has to put up with passangers BS. So, 25% is too much. Lower Uber's cut, you get happier drivers.
Travis was being very respectful and the driver was rude and arrogant. After the driver made disrespectful and false accusation, Travis was honest with him and stopped being nice. Had he not came down to the drivers level, it would have been better (although the haters would still have plenty to say regardless). The guy is human; lay off him. I don't get why ppl treat it as though he slaughtered villages. He's a competitive, intelligent businessman, that did tremendous good and revolutionized an industry. Plenty of businesses do far worse that goes undetected or publicly criticized (because they are not remotely as successful as Uber). Ahh…but this is America, the land where the majority are lazy and get their kicks (and bad karma) from kicking the ambitious whenever they can. Straight up losers, and soar losers at that. If this driver applied some emotional intelligence he could have likely forged a positive relationship that would get him out of the debt he put himself in. Just because a person is broke and another is a billionaire does not mean the broke guy is right or deserves sympathy…and billionaires are not just right because they are billionaire. Money doesn't make the man, the man makes the money.
Does every business have to become Walmart?
lmao! He stabbed him with the truth fork right as he got out. "you no gonna go fu3k!" 🙁 sad but true!
Awesome 👏 this driver should be the CEO
this guy must be a psychic because travis kalanick is no longer the ceo lolllllll karma is a BITCH!!!!!!
Okay, cause lyft isn't on the same fare level ? Uber is saying f you directly while lyft hides its face saying f you indirectly with the same pay level
Travis' mistake was engaging in conversation with him. When the difference in knowledge is that big, there's nothing to debate about. If the driver is too good for Uber, he's free to leave.
yea because uber drivers deffinetly deserve 6 figures an hour!!
I don't see a problem. There was no argument.
Am I missing something? The driver goaded him into an argument. Plus Kalanick looked a little tipsy, so I'm sure that made it even easier. Not speaking to the business portion or politics around it, just the interaction itself.
I thought he's pretty smart but that doesn't seem to be true in this video. It's stupid to argue and curse your drivers your drivers who basically are the roots of the company.
That last line was taken out of Scarface. This dude knows his movies.
Yeah I would have gotten pissed if I was Kalanick too, he was trying to explain it to the driver, and then the driver keeps interrupting and then blames himself going bankrupt on Kalanick. Kinda stupid.
I don't see any foul play from kalanick. the driver is a prick
THE OTHER THING UBER DOES OR DID TO ME IS THEY SENT ME A TAX NOTICE WITH THE ENTIRETY OF THE DRIVING EARNINGS ON IT! NOT WITH THE AMOUNT I WAS PAID. IN OTHER WORDS THEY TRIED TO GET ME TO PAY TAXES ON THEIR EARNINGS TOO! THATS SO ILLEGAL ITS UNBELIEVABLE. I CAN APPRECIATE SOME OF THIS CEOS STORY BUT NOT THAT! (to explain; if the rider pays $100 for their ride and uber takes $20 of that, then your tax notice should say $80, you have to pay taxes on $80. But oh no. Not mine. Mine said you have to pay taxes on $100. *not the exact figures, this is an explanation * I caught it because I did not drive uber that much so I knew in my head EXACTLY HOW MUCH had been put in my bank account AND THATS WHAT should have been on the 1099! THEIR SHARE OF THE MONEY SHOUD NOT HAVE BEEN ON MY 1099! I went through hell to figure out how to not have to pay taxes on THEIR PORTION OF THE MONEY!!! Aholes!
He gets his drunk rides with his bitches – comped.
Honestly I side with the ceo, it's gotta be frustrating when you are doing all the intellectual work and a worker disrespect you and blame his bankruptcy on you. Uber was successful because of the decisions and guidance provided by the ceo. As one can see in the video, Kalanick was trying to be rational at the beginning, but he was later heated because he was angered by this drivers' random blames. Obviously, Kalanick could have done something different because of his position; the fact he was trying to rationalize his business decision makings with this random driver is futile from the beginning. No one expect this driver to understand what an ceo thinks anyway, no offense.
And to be completely fair, the only cuss he said was "bullshit". And I consider that very understandable after all the blame this driver had spit out on him.
Don't focus on Travis, focus on opportunities out there besides Uber. No one should have to be an Uber driver. Just don't do it – don't put yourself in that box!
Listen to a comedy podcast called "The Dollop". Its very funny but very good at the same time of telling the story of Uber and Travis Kalanick.
The uber driver told the CEO that he isn't going to get far….
I wouldn't say he got
into an argument; more like he got defensive after the driver kept pushing him.
