Chris Stuckmann reviews Rough Night, starring Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, Zoë Kravitz, Paul W. Downs. Directed by Lucia Aniello.
good job spoiling who the camio neighbours are Chris.
The trailers were AWFUL. But I'll definitely give it a watch. Also Glazer is like a comedic acting genius in my opinion, I always laugh when she's on screen.
This is one of the worst comedies I have ever seen in a looooooong time
There's no such thing as a frat girl… there are sorority girls and then there are girls that fuck frats…
Cool T-shirt
sounds like the exact same plot as "very bad things"
So it's Very Bad Things with chicks instead of dudes
Well as a woman that saw this with my girl friends, I can say this movie was legit awful. At least we found it awful. I can only speak for myself and my friends, but we are getting really tired of the "it's funny, because women are doing it" comedy style. "Get it, it's women doing something raunchy that men do, so it's funny". If these films just had women doing funny stuff, and it didnt feel forced, then it would be much better. But instead you can just see all the punchlines a mile away, and they all literally revolve around "we are women, and doing raunchy things like Men – laugh".
No. This kind of writing is so off putting. While this was nowhere as bad as Ghostbusters (that was much worse since it had no direction, and Feig just allowed the actors to run wild and improv) – I see a lot of similarities to the kind of jokes being used. In fact, there seems to be a pattern with these kind of movies.
Maybe it's just my group of friends. I haven't seen the box office sales for these type of movies, so I assume they must be doing well? People seem to like them? But I don't get it. Every time we give them a chance, because we really like the idea of an all female cast, in a major budget film. It's nice to see that every once in a while. And it's awesome when you have so many talented women doing an ensemble cast. But over and over, I keep being burned. Is this what the all female Oceans 11 movie is going to be like? Is it just going to be Women farting and shitting, and talking about their vaginas?
Men talking about their penis + farting and shitting isnt appealing either. Just because it's my gender going against what is the norm (so subversive) doesn't automatically make it funny.
I mean subjective opinions of course. But a B IMO is way too generous. C- at best (should prob be a D+)
Surprisingly liked McKinnon more in Ghostbusters. She doesn't give a bad performance in Rough Night at all, but she was clearly the most underwritten in it, among the main group.
The sisterly-bond stuff was a little flat, but only because it felt like it was building up on-screen as the actors were getting more comfortable with each other off-screen, as if the film was shot chronologically. It definitely got better
The scenes with Peter and his friends, and roadies (right word?), were great.
I want more movies like this, and hope the cast and crew can improve upon this one (not a sequel, but something separate)
take a shot every time Chris says 'sisterly bond'.
How did the male stripper die?
Because the trope is a female stripper gets murdered in a bachelor's party or, basically, by a john, usually by strangulation or stab wounds. Since this switches the gender tropes, I'm curious as to how they executed it (no pun intended)
Your right eye doesn't like penis
Umm, is this a remake of "Very Bad Things" it sounds like it.
I don't recall seeing any dicks in this movie Chris. Only penis shaped objects. Did I miss something?
So, this is like Very Bad Things, but with women?
its a Very Bad Things rip off
Just saw this. Was very pleasantly surprised! Scarlet is way funnier than you would think. Definitely recommend for ppl who love (dark) comedy! ?
Oh now u decided to review kite its about time!!!!!!!!!
So, this is not a female "Very Bad Things"?
So weird! I usually agree with most of your reviews, but this… I totally hated this movie. The humor was awful… the acting even worse.
Please review Girls trip!!!!! please
Trigun!!! Awesome shirt man!!
Rough Night = The Hangover (for women)
So… is this a gender swapped "Very Bad Things"?
It's a good thing this movie bombed, hopefully the all "bad girl" group night theme of movie can be buried under a mummies tombstone.
$$60,000,000,000 review there Chris
So no all eye on me review Jeremy or you??
saw trailer, re-gooled all female cast's names plus the word "nude"
Jillian Bell has sucked horribly in every role I've ever seen her in, and I'm sure this movie is no exception. When is someone just going to be honest and tell her she's as talented as a roll of Charmin?
HOLY SHIT U GOT 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!!!!! well done Chris I've been watching u for 2 whole years and I've loved every video u have made . U made me view and appreciate films in a whole different way so thank you for making these videos. U r my favourite YouTuber keep up the great videos well done ?
Chris grew up with rough nights
Chris is high. Saw the movie last night. It's pretty bad. Chuckled maybe twice. Don't bother.
What happened to your arm? Bruised?
"I see a penis every day" good one xD
Yaaay. Saw it yesterday and also (strangely) really enjoyed it. I think this is going to be the hit of this summer Baywatch failed to be.
That rating is to high for this movie, more like a C +
This was pretty great. I liked Kate McKinnon but thought the accent was off. Zoe Leavitt background sideeye was enjoyable
kkkkkkkkkk i just love you chris!
Isn't this 'Very Bad Things' with women?
The thing is, I don't buy that all the ladies in this movie are about the same age.
My pick for a review? Melody from 1971 starring Mark Lester and Tracy Hyde. It's a classic!
looking forward to those christ.nolan reviews
Do "All Eyez On Me" next
yaaaaass almost a milli Chris ma boi!!
you get to look at your penis everyday? but not your balls, your wife has them! jk loves
It's one of the worst movies I've seen in years. Left early. Implausible gags that fall flat. Movie dies quicker than the stripper character
sounds like the movie "very bad things" but with girls. got it.
